It wasn't until recently that I started looking at the Physical and Metaphysical Properties of the stones I was using in my jewelry designs. And what I found is very interesting.

Mookaite is an Australian Jasper that contains shades of pink, red and yellow. It is a nurturing stone that supports you during times of stress, bringing you peace. It encourages versatility and helps you accept change. It helps you discover all possibilities in a situation, and helps to choose the right one.
It provides the body with a protective energy that helps block out unwanted outside influences. Mookaite is also believed to help slow the aging process.

Brown Jasper has a strong connection to the earth, and promotes feelings of responsibility towards the earth. It encourages creativity.
Mookaite also helps to alleviate fear, stimulate the immune system, and help cleanse toxins from the body. It is also believed to be useful when giving up smoking.

Given the properties of both of these stones, I can now see why I chose to use them together in this necklace.

I draw a lot of inspiration from nature. The Mookaite brings peace. The peace I find from sitting on the beach watching the tide go in and out and the dolphins playing. The Jasper draws on the responsibility I feel towards our planet, and helping to keep our planet environmentally friendly for future generations.
